Founder’s Letter — From Quentin
There are places that stay with you — not just for how they look, but for how they make you feel.
MLIMA didn’t begin with a business plan or a product sketch. It began with a feeling: the quiet resonance of a landscape, the warmth of human connection, and the memory carried in something made by hand.
Growing up at the crossroads of Chinese tradition and Western culture, I was always drawn to the spaces in between — the places where meaning shifts, where opposites meet, where beauty takes unexpected shape. That curiosity only deepened over the last twelve years, as I moved through four countries ( Vietnam, USA, Tanzania and Tunisia ) on three continents, living a life led by movement, and shaped by moments of stillness.
This nomadic path has taught me that inspiration lives in the local — in the way a textile is dyed, in the rhythm of a workshop, in the stories told through process and patience. Now based between Tunisia and Tanzania, I begin my creative journey not with ideas, but with materials — a piece of cloth, a raw pigment, a centuries-old technique — and from there, I follow the path toward story, form, and function.
MLIMA is created in collaboration with the artisans I work alongside — makers whose skill and spirit shape each piece. Together, we craft garments, bags, perfumes, and objects that hold the soul of the places they come from.
This is not fast fashion. It is a lifestyle rooted in adventure, memory, and spirit — a living archive of connection across borders, traditions, and time.
A dialogue between cultures.
A tribute to what we carry with us.
“I’ve lived in four countries across three continents — and each one has shaped me. MLIMA is how I remember, reconnect, and give form to what I’ve carried.”
“To me, being a modern nomad means building home through intention — through objects, rituals, and relationships that last.”
“MLIMA is not a brand I created. It’s a story I walked into — shaped by places I’ve lived, and people I’ve met along the way.”…….

But beyond credentials, Quentin creates with deep intention and heart. She approaches design as a storyteller — blending whimsy with structure, and weaving meaning into unexpected details. Her work across fashion, interiors, and objects reflects a restless curiosity, shaped by her movement through different landscapes and cultures.
Now based in Tunisia with her beloved family, Quentin draws daily inspiration from craft traditions, natural textures, and local materials. She works closely with artisans, honoring heritage techniques while reimagining them through a contemporary lens.
In addition to her design practice, Quentin’s commissioned artworks have been collected by private individuals, attesting to the emotional resonance and timeless beauty of her creations. Each piece she makes carries a story — of joy, love, memory, and adventure — embodying the spirit of place and the richness of a life lived across borders.
